Pottery Forms Europe has a number of different types of inlay batting systems. The inlay bats of these systems are made with a minimum of clearance in order to turn as stably as possible.
Inlay bats are mainly used by potters who turn frequently.
The advantage is that you do not have to install your complete bat each time and do not have to cut the work directly off the bat. By only removing the insert bat from the system and replacing it, the workpiece can remain on the insert bat until the leather-hardening stage.
These bat systems are made of birch wood.
Note: It is recommended NOT to work with steel tools on the bat to avoid splintering.
